‘Give me those keys’: Man sentenced to nine years for armed carjacking in Mississippi

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Mississippi man was sentenced Monday to prison after pointing a firearm at a woman and carjacking her, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Tennessee.

The attorney’s office reported that Un’Darius Dickerson, 24, of Jackson, Mississippi, brandished a firearm to forcibly take the victim’s vehicle.

On Nov. 19, 2024, Dickerson, wearing a ski mask, approached the victim, pointed a rifle at her face, and said, “You know what this is. Give me those keys.”

The victim handed over her car keys, and Dickerson drove away in her vehicle.

The following day, Southaven, Mississippi police arrested Dickerson while he was still driving the victim’s car after he attempted to flee during a traffic stop.

During an interview after his arrest, Dickerson admitted to “robbing” the victim and helped officers recover the firearm used in the carjacking.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Memphis Police Department investigated the case.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated this case is part of the Criminal Division’s Violent Crime Initiative, which prosecutes violent crimes in Memphis, Tennessee, and surrounding areas.
